Disposable moulds we build
Disposable packaging is made in very large numbers at very low cost per piece, so the mould has to run fast, fill thin walls evenly and keep running for lakhs of shots. Hitbhav Mould designs and builds injection moulds for food containers, IML containers, plastic glasses and cups, meal trays and ice cream cups. Every mould is made to order for your product size, wall thickness, plastic and production volume, in our workshop at Kathwada GIDC, Ahmedabad.

Built for thin walls and short cycles
Thin-wall containers and cups only work if the plastic reaches every corner before it cools. We plan the gate position, wall thickness and cooling channels in the 3D design, so the parts fill evenly, cool quickly and come out of the mould without warping. Core and cavity are made from tool steel such as P20 and H13, machined on our own CNC and EDM machines and polished to a mirror, dimpled or textured finish depending on how your product should look.
Most disposable moulds can be built with a cold runner or a hot runner. A hot runner costs more at the start, but it removes the runner scrap and can shorten the cycle, which matters when you run millions of pieces a year. A cold runner keeps the first cost lower. We recommend one or the other based on your monthly volume.
In-mould labelling (IML)
For branded containers and cups, an IML mould places a printed label in the cavity before the plastic is injected, so the label becomes part of the container. Our IML container moulds are built for this, and our glass moulds can be made IML robot compatible. Share your container size and label design and we will plan the mould around it.
Food contact and hygiene
Containers, cups and trays that hold food need a clean, smooth surface. Polished cavities give a glossy finish that is easy to clean and release. Food safety of the finished product also depends on the plastic you run, so tell us the food-grade material you plan to use and we will design the mould for it.
How many cavities do you need?
More cavities mean more pieces per shot, but also a bigger mould and a bigger moulding machine. Food container, IML and glass moulds are usually built with 1 to 6 cavities, ice cream cup moulds with 2 to 6, and meal tray moulds with 1 or 2. How an order works
- Share your product: a drawing, a sample or photos, the capacity, plastic, machine details and monthly volume.
- Design approval: we review the part, suggest the cavity layout and steel, and share the 3D design for approval.
- Manufacturing: machining on our CNC and EDM machines, then fitting and polishing.
- Trial: we run the mould on an injection moulding machine and send you videos and photos of the trial parts.
- Dispatch: anti-rust treatment, packing and the operation manual, for delivery across India or export.
